Junior League of Mobile’s BluePass announces new changes for 2020 fundraiser

Thursday, October 1, 2020 - Saturday, October 31, 2020

Mobile, Ala. – The Junior League of Mobile’s annual fundraiser, BluePass, announced new changes for 2020 that are sure to excite both shoppers and merchants.

The shopping card fundraiser will now take place the entire month of October, an increase from the 15 days of shopping in 2019. The shopping pass, which entitles shoppers to special discounts from over 150 area merchants, will also be available at the discounted price of $30.

“With the current COVID-19 pandemic hitting our community, I am excited that we can offer a way for shoppers to take advantage of the BluePass,” said Amanda Gonzales, Junior League of Mobile President. “By extending the shopping period to 30 days, it allows more time for shoppers to access half capacity stores, visit a restaurant or purchase take out, and book services with a discount. As Junior League continues to pivot our work from our traditional way of doing things, funds raised with BluePass will allow for us to create an impact with our community partners.”

Stores, restaurants, and service providers in Mobile and Baldwin Counties can sign up to be a participating merchant at no cost. Merchants also set their own exclusions and terms to the discount they provide. Those who sign up to be a participating merchant by Tuesday, July 28, 2020 will receive a free BluePass of their own.

“We hope to support the businesses who have so generously given to the Junior League mission and fundraisers throughout the years,” said Shellie Teague, BluePass Chair. “The increased shopping period will help accomplish our goal of getting shoppers into merchants’ doors and raising crucial funds for our mission.”

The BluePass fundraiser is now in its 12th year and has raised over $130,000 for community initiatives. The $30 BluePass funds Junior League of Mobile’s Diaper Bank and Adopt-A-School program. It also allows the organization to work with community partners such as the Gulf Coast Exploreum, Prodisee Pantry, the Joseph Project, and Distinguished Young Women. You can purchase a BluePass online here.
