Christmas Jubilee Moves to Downtown Mobile in 2015 - Merchants Wanted!

JLM is excited to announce that the 31st annual Christmas Jubilee is moving to the Mobile Convention Center in downtown Mobile on Nov. 11-14, 2015. “Christmas Jubilee kicks-off the holiday shopping season by bringing merchants from around the country to Mobile with their broad selection of gifts,” said 2015 Christmas Jubilee organizer Jenny Humphreys. Merchants may apply to be a part of this Gulf Coast holiday tradition here through May 15.

Approximately 15,000 shoppers visit Christmas Jubilee each year for the four-day event, which features more than 110 merchants and special shopping events. “Christmas Jubilee is a huge event for JLM and our community because we use the proceeds to fund community programs like the Bay Area Food Bank Backpack program and urban garden education at St. Mary’s home,” said JLM President Chandra Brown Stewart. “In the market’s 30 years, it has generated more than $5 million used to build the Mobile Bay Area community through charitable work.”

Sponsorship and participation opportunities are available. For more information on Christmas Jubilee including merchant applications, please call 251.471.3348.

JLM & Partners Host Conference on Diabetes and Obesity

Mobile County has one of the highest rates of obesity and diabetes in the country, and the problem is getting worse. In Mobile County, the obesity rate climbed 2% in 2013. We now weigh in with 34% of our adults obese, 2% worse than our own state average. Obesity and diabetes lead to high blood pressure, heart problems, cancer, illness, lost time at work, poor quality of life and premature death.

Save the date, October 9, 2015, and join Live Better Mobile and JLM at the Diabesity Conference 2015.
