Junior League Connects Community to Make Important Diaper Delivery

Wright Transportation, Inc. recently partnered with Greer’s Markets and Junior League of Mobile (JLM) to make an important diaper delivery to those still affected by Hurricane Ida.

When Stephen Thomas of Greer’s Markets contacted JLM President Sarah Bumgarner with a sizable donation to the diaper bank, she knew Junior Leagues in Louisiana needed it. The Junior League of Baton Rouge Diaper Bank was in great need of replenishing their diaper stock and residents there could greatly benefit from the donation.

“I know how important it is to our community to have the Junior League Diaper Bank to meet every day needs, and even more so after a devastating hurricane,” Bumgarner says. “I am so thankful to have Wright Transportation and Greer’s Markets who believe in the mission of JLM and the impact we are making to help us deliver much-needed diaper supplies to our community and our sister Junior Leagues in their time of need.”

The only obstacle to making the donation happen? The delivery logistics. Transporting more than nine pallets of diapers and hand sanitizer would take multiple car loads and manpower from JLM members. Enter Wright Transportation.

JLM contacted Daniel Wright, president of Wright Transportation, to see if any of their deliveries included Baton Rouge. They didn’t hesitate to step up and make the delivery happen.

“At Wright Transportation, we know how important it is to get supplies and goods to areas devastated by natural disasters,” Wright said. “We gladly stepped in to ensure children in need around the Baton Rouge area would continue to have access to clean, free diapers through the Junior League Diaper Bank.”

The diaper delivery is just one example of Mobile-area organizations coming together to help their neighbor. Many thanks to all involved, Stephen an Andee Thomas of Greer’s Markets, Daniel Wright of Wright Transportation, and Junior League of Mobile for making this happen!
