What is your current placement in JLM?
How important do you think the training aspect of JLM’s mission is to members and yourself in particular?
- Training takes on many forms in the Junior League of Mobile, Inc (JLM), including:
- Training events organized by JLM (i.e. Birkman, Chair Training, Pass it on meetings)
- Training on the job (which I view as crucial training)
- Training through council level and committee level – meeting with your chair, VP, other chairs, other volunteers to work through deadlines, procedures, developing your placement, bringing your best to JLM and hoping JLM brings out the best in you.
Do you feel that the training you have received with JLM in your current position will help you in future endeavors?
I have developed my editing skills, which will in turn develop my writing skills in my personal and professional life. My organizational skills have also benefited from contacting numerous people to gather information for InLeague and then distilling that information into an informative newsletter.
What is the greatest lesson that you have learned this year in your current position?
Effective communication is key! Relying on information from others requires diligent work on my part to acquire the information in a timely manner in order to meet deadlines.
