Member Training

Training is what we do! The JLM Leadership Academy is a targeted, outcome driven leadership development and training program designed to help participants impact change within their communities, as well as occupy leadership roles inside and outside of the league. A total of six sessions are held once a month on Thursday evenings beginning in October. The program culminates in April with a local community leadership panel and program completion event.

How can the Academy benefit me?
Leadership Academy has been designed to help you effectively lead in today’s dynamic organizations. Areas of focus include:
• Your Personal Profile: Creating a Road Map to Increased Competence
• Growing Your Leadership Toolbox
• Becoming an Effective League/Non-Profit Leader
Specific session topics are based on participant interest during the registration process. Sessions are designed to be interactive, as well as encourage knowledge sharing and networking. The outcome is increased self-awareness, leadership and operational competence, as well as greater non-profit/league acumen.

Who should participate?
Leadership Academy is open to active league members with a desire to grow their leadership skills. Participants are required to attend at least five of the six sessions, as well as the April event in order to obtain a Leadership Academy certificate. Due to the interactive nature of the program, space is limited to 35 participants per placement year and is allotted on a first come first served basis, so be sure to register early in order to ensure placement.
